About
We don’t just make ceramics — we shape everyday moments into something you can hold.
liorapottery pieces are crafted between two historic ceramic towns: Hasami, in Japan’s Nagasaki Prefecture, and Taoxichuan, in Jingdezhen, China. With nearly 400 years of porcelain-making heritage, Hasami is known for its refined forms and remarkable production system — developed by local artisans to ensure consistency in quality and accessibility in price. On the other hand, Jingdezhen, often called the “Porcelain Capital of the World,” brings over a thousand years of kiln tradition into the present through its creative district, Taoxichuan, where ancient glaze techniques meet contemporary design. Together, these two places shape the soul of liorapottery: clean lines, quiet textures, and subtle shifts of light across clay. Each piece carries the calm precision of Hasami and the poetic depth of Taoxichuan — ceramics made not just to be seen, but to be held, used, and remembered.
TACTILITY
The charm of liora pottery lies in its soft, comforting texture — carefully shaped with clean, modern lines and a quiet, timeless aesthetic. Unlike traditional high-gloss porcelain, each piece has a distinctly natural feel that adds warmth and character to everyday use. The signature matte finish brings an organic touch that beautifully complements both food and drink. Using traditional glazing methods and a proprietary blend of natural stone and clay, the surface texture of liora pottery is the result of years of refinement — designed to honor the raw beauty of its materials and elevate the sensory experience of every moment.
PURITY
liora pottery embraces a sense of purity rooted in both form and function. Its gentle curves reflect a modern aesthetic shaped by the dialogue between contemporary design and traditional craft. The appeal lies not only in the elegance of each silhouette, but in the thoughtful details — from pieces that nest seamlessly for serving, to forms designed with space-saving practicality in mind.Striking a quiet balance between heritage and innovation, liora pottery offers timeless functionality for both everyday use and special moments. Simple in appearance, refined in purpose — it is ceramicware that lives beautifully in the present, while echoing the depth of the past.
VERSATILITY
The charm of liora pottery lies in its soft, comforting texture — carefully shaped with clean, modern lines and a quiet, timeless aesthetic. UnlikeAt liora pottery, versatility means more than multifunction — it’s about freedom of use across moments, moods, and spaces. Each collection offers a distinct approach to form and feeling: some pieces are made for the table, others for light, scent, or stillness. But they’re never locked into just one role.A lid becomes a dish, a bowl becomes a quiet vessel, a teacup holds more than tea. Designed across different series but meant to live together, our ceramics invite playful reinterpretation — for indoors or outdoors, for rituals or improvisation. There’s no single way to use them — just honest materials, thoughtful shapes, and the joy of finding your own.
INDIVIDUALITY
Unlike mass-produced ceramics, liora pottery is shaped through a collaborative process rooted in small-town craft traditions. Across generations, local artisans—from clay mixers to molders, glazers to kiln masters—each take part in a single, specialized step. Every piece passes through many hands, absorbing the quiet precision and rhythm of their work.
The outcome is never identical. Seasonal shifts in temperature and humidity naturally affect the tone of the clay and the movement of the glaze—how it gathers, runs, or softens across the surface. These subtle variations are not flaws, but character: evidence of real time, real touch, and real craft. At liora pottery, individuality isn’t added — it’s built in, by nature and by hand.
